Hurricane Ian is forecast to hit Florida's west coast as Category 3 storm. - Aunger Vacation Homes and Formosa Gardens Estates
We take all weather-related events seriously. 

Hoping everyone stays safe, and thoughts are with everyone; this is the first Hurricane in many many years that is tracking toward Tampa and Central Florida.
Reach out if there is anything you need to discuss. Many of us are in contact, on the ground, or can be local.

- Everyone should get copies and check their insurance documents are up to date and available, Travel Documentation, etc. Contact Airlines if needs be. 

- We have spoken to a couple of roofing companies, and they have emergency tarps and other items available.

- Spectrum and Xfinity (Internet, Phone, and TV) are expecting outages.

- Make sure all loose items are inside or secured down.

- In high winds, take cover, do not go outside. This is seriously dangerous; human life is meaningful and important..

- Make sure you know what the boiled water notice is and be ready, so the county will alert people that they have to boil water in case of damage to the water system.

- Do not fill pools as normal the rainfall is expected to cause floods expecting 10 to 15 inches of rain.

Governor Ron DeSantis Issues Updates on State Preparedness for Hurricane Ian 9/27 noon

The National Hurricane Center is now predicting that landfall will be Venice in 35 hours, at 125 mph ... making it a major, Category 3, landfalling hurricane," Kevin Guthrie, director for the Florida Division of Emergency Management, said at a press conference Tuesday morning.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered Monday in some areas around Tampa Bay, and officials asked others in the area to leave voluntarily.

Orlando International Airport said commercial operations will halt Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. due to Hurricane Ian.
"Entry to all parking facilities will be closed at that same period," said the airport, which is located northeast of Tampa, in central Florida.
Disney World announces closures.
Walt Disney World, located in central Florida, announced some closures Tuesday as Hurricane Ian approaches the state.
It said the following resorts will be closed from Wednesday through Friday because of the storm:
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
The Bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
Walt Disney World says on its website it is "operating under normal conditions" as it prepares to make "necessary adjustments" based on the latest weather information.

Evacuations were ordered for 8 Florida counties.
As of Tuesday morning, evacuation orders had been issued for eight Florida counties:

  • Hillsborough
  • Levy
  • Lee
  • Manatee
  • Pasco
  • Pinellas
  • Sarasota
Tampa airport suspending operations
Hurricane Ian is impacting air travel, with Tampa International Airport announcing it will halt operations Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.

The 5 p.m. closure will allow the Airport to prepare the airfield and terminals, including the securing of jet bridges, ground equipment, and any remaining aircraft," the airport says. "The Airport, including the Main Terminal, Airsides, and parking garages, will be closed to all visitors at that time.
